Zakaria started playing soccer when he was about 8 years old. He first started playing House League in York Jets Soccer Club for 2 years. After that he began to play competitive with West Toronto Soccer Club for 1 year U10. He than left and joined York Jets Soccer Club and played with them for 3 years U11, U12, and U13. Than he started playing with the District Team TSA (Toronto Soccer Association). This was coached by a Brazilian coach by the name of Armandinho. When Zak was 13 Armandinho took him in August of 2007 to Brazil to train with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube Academy. So for 3 weeks Zak would train twice a day. One day it would be a technical training, and the other day would be a physical training, and so it would continue. Zak than went back in December 2007/08 for a World Youth Cup. Zak’s team represented Canada. They faced a South Korean team, and other well known teams from Brazil. Cruzeiro is also the club Brazilian Ronaldo grew up playing with. Unfortunately, they didn’t win but they did play well. Zak came back joined Sporting Toronto and played with them for two years, U14 and U15. He than left and played for Sudbury that were in OYSL (Ontario Youth Soccer League). He left and started training with Spartacus who were also in OYSL. Zak than wanted to play 1 age group, so he joined Armour Heights Soccer Club he played with them for 2 seasons. Now Zak is training with Daryeel coached by Dahir Boodaye. Zak also played with his middle school team in which grade 8 he was the captain. He also played for his high school team in grade 9, 10, and 11. In grade 10 he was the captain.
